Breaking news: Orton out indefinitely

29 Dec

It has been reported that Randy Orton will be out for up to six months after he was injured during last night’s SmackDown tapings. And so what does the future hold for Friday Night SmackDown? And so without further ado, here are some possibilities:

An early draft: Normally, the WWE holds its annual draft a few weeks after WrestleMania, but we could very well see a possibility of Superstars switching brands perhaps on Monday, January 9.

A Superstar trade: WWE Champion CM Punk has been rumored to be heading to SmackDown according to various reports. Other Superstars IMO that could use a change of scenery include the likes of Evan Bourne, R-Truth, Jack Swagger, Mark Henry, Ezekiel Jackson, and Natalya.

Brand Extension ending: This would be my logical choice, end separate rosters for RAW and SmackDown. It was necessary when the WWE acquired WCW and ECW talent back in 2001 but ten years later, it’s no longer needed.
